AIM celebrates alumni giving back with renovated student lounge
Makati City, Philippines—The Asian Institute of Management (AIM) marked a milestone with the inauguration of the newly renovated Landco Pacific Student Lounge, a generous donation from Landco Pacific Corporation, led by AIM alumnus Mr. Erickson Manzano, MBM 2000. The ceremonial unveiling was presided over by AIM President and Dean, Dr. Jikyeong Kang, along with key stakeholders and representatives from Landco Pacific Corporation.
This newly designed space boasts contemporary furnishings, collaborative work areas, and modern amenities, offering an environment conducive to academic excellence and community-building. “This is a very special occasion for me,” shared Mr. Manzano, President and CEO of Landco Pacific Corporation. “What I got from this school is way more than what we are giving back. I credit what I have become to two entities—my parents, and this school. I am so proud to be a product of this school.”
Having experienced campus life as an AIM dormitory resident, Mr. Manzano understands firsthand the value of collaborative spaces. “I lived the full AIM experience. I remember staying up past midnight reading case studies. It was half an inch thick minimum every single day, and people would stay here studying. This [lounge]—this is where we hung out, and I wish the same thing for the students now.”
Reflecting on the profound impact of his AIM journey, Mr. Manzano credited much of his leadership success to the world-class education he received. This is why he is so dedicated to supporting the institution. “I loved being here; it is one of the biggest influences in my life. The world should know the quality of students that come out of here,” Mr. Manzano added.
The new lounge not only enhances AIM’s learning environment but also highlights the enduring relationship between the institution and its accomplished alumni. It serves as a space for academic discussions and community engagement, fostering collaboration and innovation for current and future AIM students.
