Staff at the DAILY TRIBUNE and countless other users are reporting major disruptions today as Meta’s Facebook, Instagram, and Threads are all experiencing outages. When attempting to access the platforms, many are seeing error messages.
Across Bluesky, X, and Reddit, people are sharing similar experiences, confirming that the issue is widespread. On Facebook, users are greeted with a simple message: “We’re working on getting this fixed as soon as we can.”
According to Downdetector, there has been a significant surge in reports for Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp. Over 70,000 Instagram users have reported issues, while Facebook has seen over 100,000 complaints, indicating a large-scale disruption affecting many worldwide.
This outage follows another major incident in March 2024, when Facebook, Instagram, and Threads were also taken offline. Meta had previously experienced a similar issue in October 2022, marking an ongoing pattern of service interruptions.
