Doing business in the Philippines can be challenging due to the bureaucracy, red tape, and inefficient processes that stifle growth and innovation.
Luis “Manong Chavit” Singson, who is well-known for his success and resilience, aims to address these issues if he is elected to the Senate.
With decades of experience navigating the business landscape, Singson is all too familiar with the obstacles hindering the country’s economic potential. This is one reason why he has expanded his business ventures abroad.
On Monday, Singson signed a Memorandum of Agreement to build the K-Beauty Industrial Complex in the Incheon Economic Zone in South Korea. The complex will serve as a hub for research, production, and trade in the beauty industry, generating thousands of jobs and unique study opportunities for Filipino students.
This collaboration leverages South Korea’s leadership in cosmetics, potentially enhancing the Philippine workforce’s capabilities in the global market.
In his campaign, Singson will emphasize key platforms, including his commitment to advancing the government’s Modern Public Utility Vehicle (MPUV) program.
Running under the slogan “May Isang Salita” (A Man of his Word), he has pledged billions of pesos in interest-free loans to support the MPUV program, which aims to reduce pollution, create jobs, and stimulate economic growth. He sees this initiative as crucial to modernizing the country’s transportation system and improving the quality of life of Filipinos.
A pioneer in the transportation industry, Singson founded one of the first factories producing e-jeepneys — clean, modern solutions to public transport. He is also introducing a banking app designed to improve financial inclusion, particularly in underserved communities.
