First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos met Apple executive chairman Tim Cook at a luncheon in New York City, where she got a preview of the global technology giant’s newly unveiled foldable iPhone Duo.

In a recent social media post, Mrs. Marcos shared photos of her encounter with Cook at the “Be Best” luncheon held at The St. Regis New York hotel.

“What a fun surprise bumping into Apple executive chairman Tim Cook at the Be Best luncheon!” the First Lady wrote.

She said Cook gave her a “sneak peek” at the latest features of the iPhone Duo, which Apple introduced earlier this month as its first foldable iPhone.

Apple unveiled the iPhone Duo on 9 September, describing it as a foldable device with a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch outer display. The company said preorders will begin 16 October, with availability starting 23 October.

Mrs. Marcos said Cook mentioned that he had been wanting to visit Manila.

“And when he mentioned that he’d been wanting to visit Manila, well, of course I quickly got his number!” she said.

The First Lady reiterated her affinity for the technology company: “Once an Apple fan, always an Apple fan.”
