The Super American Circus 2022 could be called one of the greatest shows on earth, especially this holiday season, when it premiered at the Newport Performing Arts Theater on 21 December. It didn't fail to present an amazing visual spectacle of thrilling and stunning acts that fans missed seeing for the past two years on a live stage.

Taking inspiration from the box-office hit The Greatest Showman, The Super American Circus kicked off with a grand performance of "The Greatest Show" followed followed by a trapeze act connected to a motorcycle balancing on the high wire as it moved forward to the other end of the line.

More exciting acts followed suit, including aerial ballet performances, a balancing act on top of seven cylinders, and a romantic duo who presented an aerial performance.

An Argentinian band entertained the crowd and for the final, three motorcycles with their stunt riders spun around the death-defying steel "Globe of Death."

Cast member Cornell Nicholas shared how proud he is of The Super American Circus cast: "It went very well. I also sat in the seats, watched the show and reaction from people. They loved it and so did I. I'm very proud of the cast."

Nicholas said that at a young age, he would sit on a float for a circus parade.

"Later I was an acrobat. I worked different roles then I went into the business side when I got injured. I started running promotions, then running the show," he said.

His father ran away from home to join the circus. He also did several kinds of work but a door of opportunity opened for him when a ringmaster got sick with laryngitis.
"They knew my dad was already a good talker, so they said, 'You're going to have to ringmaster the greatest show on Earth."

Alex Nap, known as 'Alex the Amazing,' served as the Circus MC for The Super American Circus in Manila.

"I've been preparing for this show my entire life. So did everybody else in the show. Like all these circus performers have been practicing since they were little kids. All the stuff that you see on stage is actually just a culmination of years, probably more than a hundred years combined of talent and practices, of studying and passion," Nap said.

The Super American Circus show will run until 8 January 2023. Tickets are available at SM Tickets and Premier Ticketworld.
