Selena Gomez finally addressed the elephant in the room.

The Rare Beauty founder recently went on TikTok live to face her fans after Hailey Bieber opened up about the backlash she received from dating Justin Bieber.

"I think some of the things that I don't even need to be aware of are just vile and disgusting, and it's not fair, and no one, ever, should be spoken to in the manner that I've seen," Selena said on 29 September.

She went on to say that it's ironic how she has been campaigning for "all about kind words" yet some of her fans are doing the opposite.

"If you support Rare, I cannot thank you enough, but know that you are also representing what it means. And that is: Words matter. Truly matters," she said.

This comes shortly after Hailey said in an interview on Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast that fans are accusing her of stealing Justin from Selena who dated on and off for nearly a decade.

"You're not obligated to like me, but I believe that no matter what, there can always be mutual respect between people, and to me that means you don't have to say anything," Hailey said.

She also revealed that she has respect for Gomez's dating history with her husband.

"It's hard for me to talk about this because I don't want to talk on either one of their behalf, again, because it was their relationship, and I honestly respect that very deeply," she added.
