Miles Ocampo on BF Elijah Canlas: He’s my idol

Miles Ocampo has never been linked to any guy in showbiz — until recently when she admitted dating fellow actor Elijah Canlas.

The couple was recently spotted at the Korean Film Festival: Seoul Spotlight at Ayala Malls Manila Bay Cinemas, attending a screening of Park Chan-Wook's Decision to Leave — which won Best Director at the 75th Cannes Festival and is South Korea's entry to the 95th Academy Awards.

"I'm a big fan of Park Chan-Wook from Old Boy, Handmaiden and a bunch of other Korean filmmakers so super excited to be here tonight. Si Miles fan ng K-dramas. I heard that Park Chan-Wook delivered again, and grabe yung buzz around the international film market, so I'm super excited talaga," Canlas said.

Asked if they've been offered to work together again after the 2020 TV5 series Paano ang Pangako, Ocampo and Canlas said no, but they hope to do so.

"Gusto namin magsulat (ng script) together. Dream namin magka-work ulit together, na kung walang magbibigay sa amin, kami na lang gagawa," Ocampo said.

"We have dreams of becoming filmmakers… Kahit anong genre. Whatever we feel like writing," added Canlas.

Ocampo said Canlas influenced her taste in movies.

Most of all she appreciates his presence: "If you know you're with the right person, susunod naman lahat eh. Ang sarap lang sa feeling na merong taong sinusuportahan ka sa lahat ng gagawin mo and tanggap ka kahit anong mangyari."

Canlas is in the cast of the series Suntok Sa Buwan along with Aga Muhlach and Maris Racal, while Ocampo is a resident host on Eat Bulaga! and will star in a coming movie.

While Ocampo, 25, is three years older than Canlas, she said: "Idol ko 'to. Kaya nung naging kami lalo akong na-pressure galingan sa mga gagawin ko, kasi siyempre parang manunuod siya so dapat galingan ko."
