Mynt CEO Martha Sazon in this year’s Fortune Asia power list

Under Martha Sazon’s visionary leadership, GCash parent company, Mynt became the country’s first and only $5-billion unicorn, shaping GCash into the Philippines’ #1 finance superapp and an essential part of everyday Filipino life. The company is now in the midst of its historic IPO process — the largest in Philippine history. Mynt president and chief executive officer Martha Sazon has earned a third consecutive inclusion in Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Asia list for 2026, recognizing her leadership in expanding digital financial services in the Philippines.
Sazon heads Mynt, the parent company of GCash, which has grown into one of the country’s leading digital finance platforms, offering payments, savings, credit, insurance and investment services.
She assumed leadership during the Covid-19 pandemic, when demand for digital transactions surged. Under her leadership, the company expanded its services and strengthened its push to make financial products more accessible to Filipinos.
Grateful for the recognition
“I’m grateful for this recognition, which reflects the work of the whole team behind what we do. For us at GCash, ‘Finance for All’ means using technology to make everyday life better and create more opportunities for Filipinos. There’s still so much more we can do, and that’s what keeps us going,” Sazon said.
GCash has also expanded its lending services through GScore, its artificial intelligence-driven credit scoring system, which uses digital behavior to assess borrowers beyond traditional collateral requirements. The company said the service has opened access to loans for more than 11 million borrowers, half of whom are women.
First unicorn
Mynt has been valued at $5 billion, making it the Philippines’ first unicorn, or privately held startup valued at $1 billion or more. The company is also pursuing an initial public offering, which its statement described as the largest in Philippine history.
Beyond her work at Mynt, Sazon has represented Philippine fintech at international gatherings, including the World Economic Forum in Davos, the International Monetary Fund Executive Board Retreat, the Global Summit of Women in Dubai and the 2026 United Nations Global Compact Leaders Summit in New York.
Three decades in telecoms and financial tech
Before joining Mynt, Sazon spent 12 years at Globe Telecom, where she handled mobile postpaid, small and medium enterprise, and broadband businesses. Her career spans three decades across consumer goods, telecommunications and financial technology.
Fortune’s 2026 list recognizes 150 women leaders across Asia based on factors including the scale of their businesses, innovation, influence, career trajectory and impact.
