Aboitiz InfraCapital Bohol Airport Corp. (ABAC), operator of Bohol-Panglao International Airport, is working with the Bohol provincial government and tourism stakeholders to attract more visitors ahead of the province’s Visit Bohol 2027 campaign.
ABAC joined government agencies, tourism industry groups, transport operators and airlines at the Bohol Tourism Marketing Workshop in Tagbilaran City on 7 October, where participants identified target markets, tourism offers and marketing priorities for next year.
The workshop aimed to align the province’s tourism strategy with market demand. ABAC presented a market study, while the Department of Tourism Region VII shared visitor arrival data to guide campaign messaging and market selection.
“Bohol’s tourism growth is not the responsibility of the government alone. It requires the entire tourism ecosystem — from government and tourism establishments to the airport, airlines, transport operators and the private sector — to work toward a common direction,” Bohol Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado said.
The campaign identified South Korea and China as core markets; Japan and Taiwan as growth markets; Europe as a long-stay market; Australia and New Zealand as emerging markets; and North America as a key source of balikbayan travelers.
ABAC is also working to stimulate demand through a partnership with online travel agency Trip.com, offering P500 vouchers for domestic flights to and from Bohol-Panglao International Airport and P1,000 vouchers for international flights. The offers became available on 1 October.
The promotion aims to encourage travel to Bohol, including among those planning trips around the 16 to 18 November special non-working days in Metro Manila for the 49th Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit and related meetings.
Immediate priorities identified during the workshop include developing market-ready tourism packages, coordinating partner and influencer activities, and preparing the 2027 marketing calendar.
The provincial government has pledged funding support for the campaign and possible charter incentives, subject to approval.
