Liza’s NY moments

First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos is now in the United States for various engagements.
“The Manila-LAX-NY journey may have been a long one, but seeing so many of our kababayans along the way made the miles feel a little lighter. Always happy to stop for a quick hello, a little kwentuhan, and, of course, a few selfies! Special thanks to the wonderful cabin crew for taking such good care of us and making the long journey as comfortable as possible. Nothing like seeing a familiar Filipino smile, even thousands of miles from home,” the First Lady stated on her official Facebook page.
In New York, Araneta-Marcos attended an event hosted by the World Food Programme and the Rockefeller Foundation, saying, “It was inspiring to hear so many thoughtful ideas from world leaders and advocates on how we can make school meals work even better for our children.”
“Different countries, different experiences — but one shared hope: To give every child a healthier start and better chance to learn, grow and thrive,” she stated.
“Grateful to the World Food Programme and the Rockefeller Foundation for bringing us together for the “School Meals for the Future: Leaders Accelerating Progress” luncheon. It felt especially close to home, as it shares the same heart as our “Walang Gutom” program in the Philippines,” she added.
The First Lady also had dinner with Philippine Ambassador to the United States Babes Romualdez, saying, “Sometimes, the best evenings are the simple ones.”
“A lovely dinner and a little time to slow down, catch up, and share plenty of stories and laughter with Ambassador Romualdez, Maja Olivares Co and Loida Lewis. Good food, great stories and engaging company,” she said.
To strike a work-life balance, Araneta Marcos also savored the fresh air at Central Park, one of New York’s most famous landmarks.
“Nothing beats starting the day with a jog in Central Park, a little art along the way… and a Sabrett for breakfast! I jogged. I earned it,” she said.
