A 37-year-old construction worker was arrested after police seized 0.57 gram of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Luna, La Union, early September 21.
The suspect, who is single and presently residing in Tagudin, Ilocos Sur, was arrested during an operation conducted by personnel of the Luna Municipal Police Station, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 1.
The operation also involved personnel from the La Union Provincial Intelligence Unit, La Union Provincial Investigation and Detective Management Unit, 1st La Union Provincial Mobile Force Company, Regional Intelligence Division of PRO 1, La Union Provincial Intel Team, Regional Intelligence Unit 1 and La Union Maritime Group.
Police recovered 0.57 gram of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P3,876, contained in two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets.
Also seized were P500 in genuine cash, three P500 boodle bills, P50, P20, a P20 coin, black earbuds, an orange-and-white cricket lighter, a black Vivo Y025 cellphone and a blue-and-black Yamaha 125 motorcycle.
The seized items were inventoried and marked at the scene in the presence of the suspect and mandatory witnesses, as required by law.
The suspect is set to face charges for alleged violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
