The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) welcomed the participation of major property developers in President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, saying the partnerships would expand housing production.

DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling said partnerships between the Pag-IBIG Fund and major developers indicated growing private-sector participation in the government’s housing program.

“The continued and expanding support of respected developers for the government’s housing programs is proof that we are on the right track in advancing a more inclusive housing sector,” Aliling said.

Filinvest Land Inc. (FLI) was the latest developer to partner with the Pag-IBIG Fund after signing a memorandum of understanding Tuesday.

Under the agreement, qualified Pag-IBIG Fund members may avail themselves of preferential financing rates, special discounts, home furniture packages and other incentives on select FLI units, subject to applicable terms and program guidelines.

The agreement came a week after SM Development Corp. signed a partnership with the Pag-IBIG Fund for the Expanded 4PH.

‘More choices’

Last month, Ayala Land Inc.’s residential brands Amaia Land Corp. and Avida Land Corp. separately signed MOUs with the Pag-IBIG Fund, offering Filipino homebuyers additional housing options under the Fund’s special rates.

In February, Megawide Construction Corp. committed at least 7,000 socialized housing units under the Expanded 4PH, using modern construction technologies to accelerate housing delivery. Its Expanded 4PH projects are currently under construction in Cavite.

Aliling said the partnerships would expand housing options while allowing the Pag-IBIG Fund to make financing available to more members seeking homeownership.

The Fund’s increased maximum loanable amount of P10 million per qualified member has also expanded its coverage from socialized housing to the open-market segment.

“More choices, more options for our fellow Filipinos. There is still much we can do to further improve the Expanded 4PH in line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. so that we can help more Filipino families have their own homes for a more dignified way of life,” Aliling said.
