Rain or shine, G-Shock gears up for the commute

Casio Philippines is highlighting five G-Shock watches designed for commuters dealing with long trips, crowded public transportation and unpredictable weather.
The lineup includes the GA-140-1A1, GA-700-1A, GA-010-1A, GD-010-1 and GA-100-1A1, all featuring G-Shock’s shock-resistant construction and water resistance of up to 200 meters.
“Filipino commuters deal with a lot in a single day, whether it’s a sudden downpour or a train car that feels like an oven,” Casio Philippines regional sales manager Sena Kuroda said.
“G-SHOCK was built for exactly that kind of unpredictability. Commuters shouldn’t have to choose between a watch that can keep up and one that looks good doing it.”
Priced at P8,860, the GA-140-1A1 features an oversized case and a retro-inspired dial influenced by portable stereos of the 1980s and 1990s.
The P7,920 GA-700-1A features a three-dimensional analog-digital display, front illumination button and five-year battery.
For longer battery life, the GA-010-1A and GD-010-1 offer up to 10 years of operation and use bio-based resin. The GA-010-1A, priced at P7,770, has an analog-digital display, while the P7,960 GD-010-1 uses a large digital display.
Completing the lineup is the P8,870 GA-100-1A1, which features an analog-digital display and magnetic resistance designed to protect the watch from everyday magnetic interference.
The watches also offer features including timers, world time and LED illumination.
Casio said the five models are available at Casio and G-Shock stores nationwide and through its Philippine online store.
