Filipino filmmaker carries mother’s dream from the Philippines to Taiwan
There was a time when staying connected meant reaching for your phone. Now, for a growing number of Filipinos, that connection lives on the wrist.
Smart Communications is leaning into this shift, bringing the latest Apple Watch lineup — the Apple Watch SE 3, Apple Watch Series 11, and the rugged Apple Watch Ultra 3 — into its Postpaid Plans with Device, starting at Plan 999. The SE 3 starts at P692 a month, the Series 11 at P1,321, and the Ultra 3 at P2,275, with 0% installment options available through participating bank partners. iPhones are also up for grabs through Smart channels, for anyone looking to round out the full Apple setup.
"With the digital lifestyle evolving beyond the smartphone, connectivity is no longer limited to the device in our pocket," said Lloyd R. Manaloto, FVP and OIC for Smart. "We're giving Filipinos more freedom to stay connected, stay on top of their health, and manage everyday tasks right from their wrist."
Freedom from your phone
Perhaps the most freeing part of the experience is the ability to leave your phone behind entirely. Through Smart Device Link, Apple Watch users can share their primary number and plan with their watch for P199 a month — enabling calls, texts, and mobile data even when the iPhone is nowhere nearby. First-time users can currently try it free for six months, through September 30.
Health and safety, always on
Beyond convenience, the appeal is increasingly about wellbeing. Depending on the model, these watches track heart rate and sleep, offer ECG readings and Sleep Score, log workouts, and even flag crashes or emergencies through Crash Detection and Emergency SOS — quietly working in the background as a kind of safety net.
Tap, and you're done
Apple Pay rounds things out, letting the watch double as a wallet — a coffee run, a grocery checkout, a parking fee, all settled with a tap.
Choosing your fit
The lineup spans different lifestyles: the SE 3 covers the essentials for everyday health, fitness, safety, and connectivity; the Series 11 leans into more advanced health and fitness features for daily use; and the Ultra 3 is built for those who push harder, designed for demanding sports and outdoor activity.
Underpinning all of it is Smart 5G, keeping the watch, iPhone, and other services talking to each other smoothly whether you're at work or out and about. Smart was recently named by Ookla as having the Best Mobile Video Experience in the Philippines for the first half of 2026, posting a Video Score of 72.82 — the highest among mobile operators in the country.
