PLARIDEL, Quezon — The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) is moving forward with the P670.25-million Phase II development of Plaridel Port in Siain, Quezon, aimed at improving maritime connectivity and roll-on, roll-off (RoRo) operations in central Quezon.

The project includes the development of a port operational area, RoRo ramp, access road and stair landing, as well as removal, disposal and excavation works needed for the expansion.

PPA has set a 720-day completion period for the project once the contract is awarded and construction begins.

A pre-bid conference for prospective contractors is scheduled on 15 September, while the opening of bids is set for 29 September.

The project is part of PPA’s continuing investments in port infrastructure to improve the movement of passengers, vehicles and cargo through the country’s maritime transport network.

Plaridel Port serves as a maritime gateway for communities in Quezon, making the planned expansion significant to the movement of people and goods in the province.

The Phase II development follows earlier improvements at the port as the government works to expand facilities and accommodate growing maritime traffic.
