Toyota Motor Philippines will display several Tamaraw variants and conversions at four events in Metro Manila and Cebu this week.
The appearances place the light commercial vehicle in settings that cover food businesses, construction, retail and the local diecast community. Each event will feature a different use of the Tamaraw’s configurable platform.
The Asia Food Expo runs from 9 to 12 September at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. Toyota will bring the Tamaraw Utility Van, GL Dropside, Wing Van and Refrigerator Van to the trade show.
The Refrigerator Van can carry products that require controlled temperatures, while the Wing Van provides easier access to cargo.
The Utility Van and Dropside can also serve small businesses that need a vehicle for deliveries or regular operations.
The Tamaraw will also appear at the Philippine Building and Construction Expo Cebu from 10 to 13 September at the IEC Convention Center. A GL Dropside will represent the model at the construction trade event.
Toyota will then present two less conventional conversions at the PURVEYR Fair on 12 and 13 September at the World Trade Center Tent.
One GL Dropside will serve as a mobile DJ booth, while another will become a pop-up flower shop. The open rear bed provides space for both conversions without changing the basic cab and chassis.
The DJ booth will host sets from Waff, Roy De Borja, Okami, Average Bri, Nix Damn P! and J Dope on 12 September. Okami, ADMV, Michiko, Nix Damn P!, Butta B and Yela Renee will perform the following day.
A Tamaraw food truck will also support Waves For Water at the fair. The conversion shows how the vehicle can carry a business while also helping an advocacy reach event visitors.
Collectors will get their own look at the Tamaraw during the Die Cast Philippines Grandparents Day Pit Stop. A GL Dropside will be displayed at Cash & Carry Makati on 12 and 13 September.
