A lawyer of jailed sect leader Apollo Quiboloy and known supporter of former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, Atty. Mark Kristopher G. Tolentino, has been issued an arrest warrant by Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 229 Judge Cleto R. Villacorta III over an alleged violation of Section 5 of Republic Act No. 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004, involving his former lover, actress, singer and former beauty queen Ma. Isabella “Lala” David Vinzon.
"After a careful examination of the allegations in the Information and supporting documents attached thereto filed on August 4, 2026, this branch is convinced that probable cause exists for the issuance of a Warrant of Arrest against Accused, Atty.Mark Kristopher G. Tolentino," Judge Villacorta III wrote in his order.
However, on Thursday, court staff from Judge Villacorta III's sala disclosed that Tolentino immediately posted bail during his arraignment.
QC RTC Branch 229 personnel also refused to give details on the case, saying that Judge Villacorta III's sala is a family court and that information should only be given to parties to the case.
Vinzon's lawyer, Atty. Ryan Lopez, said in a statement, "Vinzon ended her relationship with Tolentino after experiencing severe emotional and psychological distress during the course of their relationship."
Lopez said this was the main reason they filed a case for violation of Section 5(i) of Republic Act No. 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004, against the flamboyant lawyer.
The whirlwind relationship between the daughter of actor Roi Vinzon and Tolentino, according to Lopez, was aggravated by Tolentino's filing of allegedly concocted cases against Vinzon last year before the Mandaluyong City Prosecutor’s Office. Tolentino lodged multiple charges against Vinzon, including perjury, falsification of public documents, obstruction of justice, oral defamation and unjust vexation.
"The accusations were widely circulated online and reported by several mainstream media outlets. A purported warrant of arrest against Ms. David, which was not genuine, was likewise circulated publicly and maliciously by his ex-boyfriend lawyer/vlogger Mark Tolentino, who is also a regular host of Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI) Pinoy Legal Mind. Tolentino has used SMNI’s digital and alternative online streaming channels to allegedly criticize and spread rumors against the young beauty queen, who is double her age," Lopez said.
