The Department of Justice (DoJ) is still evaluating the United States’ extradition request for Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and will not set a deadline for filing a petition, Justice Undersecretary Ian Norman Dato said Thursday.

The DoJ received the request on 7 August and is determining whether to file it in court.

“We do not subscribe to any timeline, but the process of evaluating the request has begun and is ongoing,” Dato said.

He said any petition must be thorough enough to withstand court scrutiny.

Quiboloy faces US charges including sex trafficking, sex trafficking of minors and visa fraud.
