  •  An unidentified man was found dead in the Padsan River near Barangay 32-B, La Paz, Laoag City, prompting a joint retrieval operation by local emergency responders and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) received a telephone report from Barangay Captain Duldulao about the discovery of a body in the river.

The CDRRMO Search and Rescue Team, Medical Team, and Department of Public Services (DPS) Medical Team, led by Dr. Melvin D. Manuel, were dispatched to the area.

Upon arrival, the responders coordinated with the PCG and successfully retrieved the body.

The man was wearing a black striped shirt and black cargo shorts when he was recovered.

Dra. Janine Ramos examined the body before it was turned over to the Philippine National Police (PNP) for identification and further investigation.

Authorities have yet to identify the deceased or determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
