Police arrested two men and seized nearly 43 grams of suspected methamphetamine and a loaded handgun during an anti-illegal drug operation in Caloocan City, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) reported.

Personnel from the Caloocan City Police Station executed the raid around 1:25 p.m. at CBY Barracks on San Lorenzo Street in Barangay 185, operating under a Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency clearance.

Officers took into custody a 31-year-old man, identified by police as a listed high-value target and alleged drug pusher, along with a 19-year-old man identified as an alleged drug user.

Police recovered three sachets containing 42.96 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P292,128. Officers also seized a black Armscor .45-caliber pistol loaded with two live rounds and a sling bag.

The suspects are under investigation for violations of Sections 5 and 11 under Article II of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Authorities are also preparing firearm charges under Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, regarding the recovered handgun and ammunition.
