The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) and local government officials of Aparri, Cagayan have strengthened their coordination for the proposed East Apayao-Abulug Irrigation System (EAAIS) Extension Project.
NIA held a courtesy meeting with the Sangguniang Bayan of Aparri on 24 August 2026, to discuss the proposed project, particularly the identification of Project-Affected Persons (PAPs) and the conduct of related field surveys.
The meeting provided an opportunity for NIA to present details of the proposed project and coordinate with local authorities ahead of the planned field activities.
Among those involved in the discussions were the Municipal Agriculture Officer, Municipal Engineer and Municipal Administrator.
NIA and the local officials also finalized plans and arrangements for the identification of PAPs and the conduct of field surveys to ensure that the activities are carried out in an orderly and systematic manner.
