CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — A 29-year-old rider was killed while another was injured when the motorcycles they were driving collided head-on along the national highway in Sito New Ilocos, Barangay Dalwangan, Saturday evening.
Police reported that the fatality was a resident of Valencia City, Bukidnon, while the injured rider was a 58-year-old resident of Impalutao, Impasugong, Bukidnon.
Investigation showed that the fatality was driving a Suzuki Raider motorcycle toward Malaybalay City, while the other victim was traveling in the opposite direction aboard a Skygo Duke 110 motorcycle when the accident happened.
The Skygo motorcycle reportedly made a sudden right turn and swerved into the opposite lane, colliding head-on with the Suzuki Raider.
The impact threw both riders onto the concrete roadside. The Suzuki rider suffered severe head injuries, while the other rider suffered bone fractures.
The barangay rescue team rushed the victims to the hospital. The 29-year-old rider was declared dead on arrival, while the other rider was confined for treatment.
