Motorists will soon have a more comprehensive way to check their traffic records as the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) adds a new search function to its MayHuliKa portal starting 24 August.
According to an agency advisory released Friday, vehicle owners using the portal will be able to search using either a combination of a plate number and ticket number, or a plate number and motor vehicle file number.
The first option targets motorists who have already received a notice of violation or traffic citation. The second option enables users to pull up all recorded violations associated with a vehicle under the No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP).
Agency officials said the upgraded feature aims to make verifying traffic violations easier, more secure and more accessible for the public.
Alongside the announcement, the MMDA issued a warning regarding fraudulent mobile communications.
The agency stressed that official text notifications come exclusively from the sender ID “MMDA_NCAP” and stressed that legitimate messages never contain embedded links. Motorists were advised to treat any text message containing a link as a scam.
Visual evidence of policy violations can be viewed strictly through the official web portal at mayhulika.mmda.gov.ph or by searching for the MMDA within the eGovPH application.
The online violation-checking system recorded significant traction in July, logging more than 15 million site visits and 2.7 million unique users.
The platform has since been integrated into the eGovPH Super App through a joint initiative between the MMDA and the Department of Information and Communications Technology, offering drivers a single platform to view and settle citations.
Unresolved traffic citations remain flagged in driver records with the Land Transportation Office, which can prevent vehicle registration renewals until settled.
