Thank you, Gibo. You are our hero. China just issued a statement making you our hero. Congratulations, China just put you on a pedestal with the statement below.

“Philippine Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. repeatedly made irresponsible remarks on China, which undermines China’s legitimate interests and sabotages China-Philippine relations.”

How can a remark based on the decision of an International Court in The Hague be “irresponsible”? China’s rejection of its decision, its arrogant unilateral claim over the West Philippine Sea (WPS), are not only irresponsible, they are ludicrous and insane.

Gibo, China is afraid of you because you are effective in putting it in its proper place — that of a rogue bully nation that thinks it owns the WPS. You got their goat. More power to you.

The WPS powder keg

It is alarming that China’s activities in the WPS have been heating up lately. They are in a hurry for some reason. Have they identified their target oil extraction areas in the WPS? Are they ready to move in? Will they dare to set up an oil rig? This is a form of escalation.

The best response to a China oil rig in the WPS is for the Philippines to invite oil-producing countries to conduct joint exploration with us right next to China. Where they dig, we dig — oil rig versus oil rig. It is a better option than an all-out war, where the Philippines will be the underdog.

In truth, all the harassment China has wrought on the Philippines in the WPS — ramming Philippine Coast Guard and fishermen’s vessels, shooting water cannons and lasers, blocking food deliveries to Filipino troops, who will never go hungry anyway as there is abundant fish in the sea — are tantamount to an “act of war.”

China talks and acts as if it owns the WPS based on a questionable ancient document it discovered. Preposterous. No amount of propaganda will change history. You cannot make your own history.

And China’s diplomat is being undiplomatic when he insults our senators. He should be declared persona non grata, shipped back to Beijing and replaced by a true diplomat who will foster harmony, not conflict.

China eyes Batanes

The Ivatans have been in Batanes since prehistoric times. So China’s claim that it “owns” Batanes, just because it is strategic to its vested interests, is ridiculous and preposterous. Chinese vessels are not welcome to come near Batanes. Any military moves on Batanes will be an act of war. Please stay away.

China’s high-tech espionage

A series of arrests since December 2025 bared how deep high-tech Chinese espionage has been going on, perhaps for the last five years or even earlier. A press conference by Soundbytes of ANC Digital revealed the alarming state of these espionage activities that the public must know about. This is not to induce panic but to prepare for future coordinated actions between the AFP and the public.

In the press conference, Atty. Jeremy Lotoc, NBI chief of Cybercrime and Special Task Force, revealed the arrest of Teng Wan Ting of the PLA University of Science and Technology based in Nanjing, China. His RAV4 contained high-tech equipment that was transmitting intelligence data to China in real time.

The massive data he transmitted to China defied imagination and would have probably put Edward Snowden, the US Pentagon whistleblower, to shame. The intelligence data may have perhaps been even better than what the AFP and NBI have. Lotoc reported that high-end specialists were also arrested — a “control engineer” and an “automation engineer.”

Gibo is our ace. He has the capability to continue to oppose China’s propaganda machinery. Let us support him.
