Charlie Fleming is ready to make her 18th birthday extra memorable as she prepares for a debut that she promises will be anything but ordinary.
With her milestone celebration fast approaching, the young actress revealed that preparations are already underway, from meetings to an upcoming photoshoot with the people helping bring her vision to life.
“I’m turning 18, so debut prep has been happening. Meetings have been happening,” Charlie said during the launch of Nicholas Tan's first art exhibition in Manila.
She told DAILY TRIBUNE, “We’re having a shoot very soon, and I’m so excited for the people. I’m grateful for the people who are working with me at the moment because it’s not a small thing.”
While Charlie remained tight-lipped about the finer details of her celebration, she teased that her 18 Roses will have an unexpected twist.
“I’m not going to spill that much because it’s actually a bit out-of-the-box,” she said.
And if her teaser is anything to go by, Charlie’s debut may veer away from the usual 18th birthday celebration format.
One of the people who will be taking part in the milestone is her longtime best friend in the industry, Bryce Eusebio, a GMA Network and Sparkle artist who, like Charlie, was part of the original Sparkle Teens.
When asked if he would be part of her 18 Roses, Charlie immediately confirmed it.
Charlie shared that she and Bryce have been friends since she was 14, making their friendship one that has grown alongside their respective journeys in showbiz.
“I’ve known him for however long I’ve been in the industry. I met him when I was 14 years old. We’ve been friends for four years now,” Charlie said.
For his part, Bryce offered a sweet reminder to Charlie as she enters adulthood.
“I hope you get to enjoy life more. And I know you’re turning 18 and you’re going to be an adult, but still, keep your youthfulness,” Bryce said.
Charlie also hinted that some of her fellow Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition housemates could make an appearance at her debut, although their busy schedules may determine who can attend.
“PBB housemates, they’re going to be there — just hopefully, if they don’t have work,” she said.
“We’re all very busy, even if it’s been a year after our PBB.”
But despite the anticipation surrounding her debut and the promise of an “out-of-the-box” celebration, Charlie’s biggest birthday wish remains simple.
“I just hope everyone has one. And I just hope that the people I love are going to be there because this is a big thing for me,” she said.
“That’s my wish.”
