Pangasinan Fourth District Rep. Gina de Venecia is seeking continued funding for the Calmay Bridge and three bypass road projects in and around Dagupan City, with completion of the bypass roads targeted for 2026.
De Venecia raised the status of the Calmay Bridge during a meeting with Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Vince Dizon and Chief of Staff Allan Yap in March.
The three bypass projects discussed were the Dagupan City-Mangaldan Bypass Road, Dagupan City-Calasiao Bypass Road, and Binmaley-Pugaro-Bonuan Gueset Bypass Road.
According to DPWH officials, funding for the projects is expected to be released.
The projects are intended to provide alternative routes for motorists and ease traffic congestion on existing roads connecting Dagupan City with neighboring municipalities.
The Calmay Bridge is also expected to improve connectivity among communities once funding is secured and construction proceeds.
The projects remain subject to the DPWH’s funding and implementation process, with completion of the three bypass roads targeted within 2026.
