The Macabebe District Hospital was temporarily closed due to flooding at the town of Macabebe, Pampanga, on 17 August 2026.

The said temporary closure was ordered by Vice Governor Dennis Pineda, ensuring the safety and well-being of the patients and medical personnel of the establishment.

"Upang hindi maputol ang serbisyong pangkalusugan para sa mga kabalen, isang operations center (OpCen) ang agad na itinayo sa isang multipurpose hall sa Brgy. Batasan, malapit sa dike," he said.

According to Provincial Health Officer Dr. Dax Tidula, some of the services that kabalens can avail in the operations center are the ambulatory services and minor operations.

"Patuloy na nakaantabay ang Pamahalaang Panlalawigan upang masiguro na may malalapitan at makukuhang tulong medikal ang mga Kapampangan sa kabila ng epekto ng baha," Pineda said.

As of August 17, 2026, all 25 barangays in Macabebe, Pampanga are submerged in floodwaters due to relentless rains from the southwest monsoon (habagat) heavily enhanced by recent successive typhoons, including Super Typhoon Nando. PAGASA has placed Macabebe and neighboring lowland areas under a Yellow Warning Level, as high tide surges continue to worsen back-flooding from the Pampanga River Basin.

According to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMC) and municipal authorities, flood levels in Macabebe range anywhere from 1 to 6 feet deep.
