The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Mandaue Field Unit confiscated counterfeit Magic Sarap food seasoning worth an estimated P4.224 million during a weekend raid in Cebu City.
The operation was conducted at a warehouse along P. Gullas St. in Barangay Sto. Niño, Cebu City.
Arrested was a 42-year-old Chinese national identified as alias Jian Zhou Lin, who allegedly claimed ownership of the counterfeit products.
The CIDG said its operatives recovered 440 sacks, each containing two large boxes of counterfeit seasoning products.
The operation stemmed from a complaint filed by the food manufacturing company after the counterfeit products were allegedly offered for sale to traders at Tabo sa Banay in downtown Cebu City.
