Jetour has sold more than 500,000 units of the T2 worldwide, less than three years after the midsize SUV made its global debut in 2023.
The milestone was reached within 33 months and makes the T2 the Chinese automaker’s best-selling model across its international markets.
Total sales of Jetour’s T-Series had also exceeded 700,000 units as of May 2026.
The T2 has become one of Jetour’s more recognizable models because of its boxy shape and rugged styling. Its upright front end features rectangular headlights, a wide grille and prominent Jetour lettering. Black overfenders and a broad stance add to its off-road look.
Jetour’s name across the grille also separates the T2 from the Land Rover Defender, a model often mentioned when people discuss the Chinese SUV’s design. On the T2 Lightning i-DM, the letters light up at night.
The SUV uses a unibody platform rather than the ladder frame commonly found in traditional off-road vehicles.
However, owners have taken the all-wheel-drive versions on light trails, where selectable drive modes help the vehicle handle loose or uneven surfaces.
Gasoline versions of the T2 use a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Selected variants are equipped with Jetour’s XWD Intelligent Four-Wheel Drive System and its “7+X” selectable driving modes.
Jetour has also introduced a plug-in hybrid version for customers who want an electrified powertrain. The T2 Lightning i-DM combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with a plug-in hybrid system.
The T2 cabin comes with a high-definition infotainment screen and a panoramic sunroof. Other equipment includes a 360-degree camera, Adaptive Cruise Control and Autonomous Emergency Braking. Six airbags are also standard.
Jetour said it paid close attention to noise, vibration and harshness during the vehicle’s development. The work helps reduce road and wind noise, particularly during long highway trips.
The manufacturer has tested the T2 in demanding weather and road conditions. Trials covered the high temperatures of Middle Eastern deserts and the freezing winters of North Asia. Such testing allowed Jetour to assess how the SUV performed across markets with very different climates.
In the Philippines, the T2 is Jetour’s second best-selling SUV after the smaller T1. Five versions are available locally. These are the Beyond, Terrain, Panda Edition, Terminator and Lightning i-DM PHEV.
Local interest in the T2 has also led to the creation of the Jetour T2 Pilipinas Car Club. Jetour Auto Philippines supports the group through organized drives and outdoor activities for owners.
Similar groups have emerged in other markets. Jetour now has more than 300 owner clubs with over 31,000 members worldwide. Their activities include road trips and camping events.
The wider Jetour brand has recorded more than 2.4 million cumulative vehicle sales since it was established eight years ago. Its vehicles are now sold in over 100 countries and regions through a network of more than 2,000 sales and service outlets.
The T2’s rapid rise to 500,000 units shows how much demand has grown for SUVs that combine a rugged appearance with the comfort and equipment expected from a daily vehicle.
Its range of gasoline and plug-in hybrid versions has also allowed Jetour to serve customers with different driving needs.
