The Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS), operators of the Ipo Dam, said that they released water from the said dam in Norzagaray, Bulacan on 9 August 2026.

The MWSS said that they released 156.56 cubic meters per second (cms) of water earlier this afternoon due to the continuous rise of water levels at the reservoir of the Ipo Dam brought about by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

At around 1pm today, the water level at the Angat Afterbay Regulator Dam (Bustos Dam) is at 17.15 meters, which is considered as light/ normal condition.

The NIA Bulacan Irrigation Management Office is closely coordinating with the local government to ensure the safety of the residents, especially those living near the river. The office has advised residents in low-lying areas to remain on alert and prepared for possible rise of water levels.

Ipo Dam is a concrete gravity diversion dam located in Norzagaray, Bulacan, Philippines.

Completed in 1984, it sits 7.5 kilometers downstream from Angat Dam and channels water for Metro Manila's water supply system via the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) monitored Angat-Ipo-La Mesa network.
