More than P1 million worth of illegal drugs were seized from three suspects in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal on Thursday night.
Three individuals allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade were arrested in an operation conducted by the Rodriguez Municipal Police Station, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
The suspects were apprehended during a buy-bust operation while in the act of selling suspected high-grade marijuana, or 'Kush', to an undercover operative.
A large amount of suspected illegal drugs was confiscated during the operation, including approximately 177 grams of Kush, 4,044.39 grams of dried marijuana leaves, and 40 grams of suspected shabu. Based on estimates, the total standard drug price of the confiscated illegal drugs reaches more than P1 million.
Aside from illegal drugs, operatives also seized a 9mm pistol, a magazine, three live rounds of ammunition, a digital weighing scale, buy-bust money, and other paraphernalia believed to be used in the illegal drug trade.
The arrested suspects will be charged for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, while an additional case under Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, will be filed in connection with the confiscated firearm and ammunition.
