The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has directed all units and police districts to intensify their intelligence-gathering efforts and operations against illegal drugs throughout Metro Manila.
NCRPO Officer-in-Charge Police Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano issued the directive following a successful operation by the Southern Police District (SPD) that resulted in the dismantling of a suspected drug den and the arrest of five suspects, including a high-value individual, in Barangay Manuyo Uno, Las Piñas City, on Saturday, 3 October.
During the operation, authorities seized approximately 105 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P714,000.
“We will continue dismantling drug dens and disrupting drug networks. I have directed all NCRPO units to intensify intelligence gathering, validate reports, and take immediate lawful action against illegal drug activities,” Abrahano said.
According to him, strengthening intelligence gathering and validation is crucial in identifying drug personalities, drug supply networks, and locations being used as drug dens.
Abrahano further emphasized that the NCRPO's campaign will not focus solely on street-level drug personalities, but will also target individuals and groups involved in the operation and protection of drug distribution networks.
He also called on barangay officials to remain vigilant and actively work with the police in protecting their communities.
The NCRPO chief likewise warned owners or occupants of houses and properties who knowingly and deliberately allow their premises to be used as drug dens, or who are aware that their properties are being used for illegal drug activities and willingly allow such use, that they may be held liable under existing laws.
