CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Classes at all levels and government work remain suspended across Central Luzon today, Aug. 6, as Malacañang formally expanded the suspension under Memorandum Circular No. 122 to protect communities from Tropical Storm "Maymay," enhanced by the southwest monsoon.

The affected provinces are Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Zambales, and Bataan, continuing and reinforcing earlier local suspensions issued yesterday. Essential services, such as health facilities, disaster response units, and rescue teams, remain on full duty to provide urgent assistance.

In coastal Aurora, strict maritime safety measures remain in effect. All small seacraft trips are suspended as dangerous waves of up to 2.5 meters pose risks to fishermen and coastal residents.

PAGASA warned of continuous heavy rains, flash floods, and landslides across the region. Local disaster offices remain on high alert, with Bulacan under a Yellow Rainfall Warning.

Authorities reiterated their directive to prioritize safety. Residents are urged to stay indoors, avoid low-lying and flood-prone areas, and strictly follow updates and instructions from government agencies.
