Disney+ has announced that the third season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians will premiere on 20 November, with fans getting their first glimpse of the new chapter during the series’ Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con.
The upcoming season adapts The Titan’s Curse, the third novel in Rick Riordan’s bestselling book series, marking the first time the story will receive a live-action adaptation.
During the panel, thousands of fans were treated to the opening act of the season premiere. Cast members Walker Scobell, Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, Tamara Smart, Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie joined executive producers Craig Silverstein and Dan Shotz to tease what’s ahead. Leah Sava Jeffries, who plays Annabeth Chase, also appeared in a video message while filming another project overseas.
Season three follows Percy as he faces the disappearance of Annabeth while grappling with the Great Prophecy delivered by the Oracle of Delphi. As the fate of Olympus hangs in the balance, a child of the “Big Three” is destined either to save the gods or bring about their downfall.
Coinciding with the announcement, Disney also revived the Percy Jackson and the Olympians Experience at San Diego Comic-Con, featuring an interactive attraction inspired by the new season, complete with hidden Easter eggs, prophecy clues and exclusive Camp Half-Blood collectibles.
Created by Rick Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg, the fantasy series stars Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, Tamara Smart and Levi Chrisopulos. The first two seasons are now streaming on Disney+.
