Prime Video unveiled the first teaser trailer for the third season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power during its Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con, offering fans a first look at Middle-earth’s next chapter ahead of its 11 November premiere.
The new season takes place five years after the fall of Eregion, with Sauron advancing his quest to forge the One Ring and conquer Middle-earth. The teaser hints at a darker, war-driven story as Elves, Dwarves, Men, and Wizards are forced into uneasy alliances to stop the Dark Lord.
The panel also introduced new characters, with Eddie Marsan cast as Thrain, Andrew Richardson as Anarion, and Adam Young as the mysterious Orc Marnûkh. They join previously announced additions Jamie Campbell Bower as Celeborn and Zubin Varla as Khamûl the Easterling. It was also revealed that Simon Pegg will voice the Balrog, marking the creature’s first speaking role in the series.
Fans inside Hall H were treated to a surprise appearance by four armored Nazgnagôl, Sauron’s new ring-servants, adding to the event’s biggest reveals.
The first four episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 premiere on 11 November, followed by two episodes on 18 November and the season finale on 25 November, exclusively on Prime Video.
