Ariana Grande is ushering in a new era of music with the release of her eighth studio album, petal.
The Grammy-winning pop superstar revealed that the album was preceded by its lead single, “hate that i made you love me.” Both the single and the album are executive produced and co-written by Grande alongside longtime collaborator ILYA.
Petal follows the success of Grande’s 2024 album, eternal sunshine, which debuted atop the Billboard 200 and became the longest-running number one album of her career. The record also produced back-to-back Billboard Hot 100 chart-toppers, “yes, and?” and “we can’t be friends (wait for your love).”
Beyond music, Grande has continued to thrive in Hollywood. Her portrayal of Glinda in Wicked and Wicked: For Good earned her Academy Award, Golden Globe, BAFTA, Critics Choice and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations for Best Supporting Actress. The two films have collectively grossed more than $1.2 billion worldwide, making them the highest-grossing film series adapted from a Broadway musical.
The singer-actress also has several acting projects lined up, including Universal’s Focker-In-Law, the upcoming animated adaptation of Oh, the Places You’ll Go! and a role in a future season of American Horror Story.
In 2027, she is also set to make her West End stage debut in a revival of Sunday in the Park with George.
