Tropical depression “Luis” brought widespread rains across much of the country Sunday, forcing the suspension of sea travel in Catanduanes as state weather forecasters warned of strong winds and heavy rainfall in parts of Luzon.
The Philippine Coast Guard suspended all sea trips to and from Catanduanes, saying vessel movements would remain halted while weather conditions remained unsafe.
As of 4 p.m. Sunday, the center of Luis was estimated at 258 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
