Police arrested a 62-year-old Australian national on Saturday night following a rape complaint involving a 43-year-old woman at a condominium in Barangay 76.
Authorities identified the suspect as alias Nedal, a resident of the condominium complex where the alleged assault occurred.
An initial investigation showed the victim arrived at the suspect’s unit around 7:20 p.m. on Saturday to discuss potential gymnastics training opportunities for her daughter.
During the discussion, the suspect allegedly forced the woman onto a bed and performed sexual acts against her will. Police said the suspect repeatedly restrained the victim as she fought back and tried to escape.
The woman managed to alert building security personnel, who detained the suspect and turned him over to Pasay Police Sub-Station 10.
The case was referred to the station’s Women and Children Protection Desk.
Officers brought the suspect to Pasay City General Hospital for a routine medical examination before inquest proceedings for rape at the Pasay City Prosecutor’s Office.
