Jelai Andres shared one of her most personal interviews yet as she reflected on the painful end of her marriage to Jon Gutierrez, revealing how years of emotional struggles, an exhausting annulment process, and repeated betrayals ultimately reshaped her outlook on love and life.

Appearing on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, the social media personality surprised viewers by speaking without bitterness, choosing instead to wish her former husband well.

“I still wish that he’s doing better now, better than before. I also hope he never forgets what I taught him — to always pray. I introduced him to God, and I hope he continues that. I wish him peace, just like the peace I have now, and I still want him to be successful in life.”

After Boy Abunda noted that Gutierrez is now in a new relationship, Andres also had a message for his current partner.

“To the woman who is with my ex now, I hope you take care of him and protect him so he won’t hurt anyone else. Keep him with you, because I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through what I experienced.”

The influencer also detailed the emotional and financial toll of seeking an annulment, describing the process as one of the most difficult battles she has faced.

“It was very difficult because, first of all, I wasn’t even sure if the annulment would be granted. The waiting is exhausting, the expenses keep piling up, and there comes a point when you start thinking, ‘Maybe this will never happen. Maybe it won’t be approved.’”

According to Andres, the legal process has stretched over five years, with delays making the ordeal even more frustrating.

“All in all, it’s been five years. Three years were spent after transferring the case to another location, but the two years in Quezon City felt like they were wasted.”

She also admitted that the cost of pursuing the case had already exceeded an amount she could no longer accurately estimate.

“I honestly can’t remember the exact amount anymore, but it’s definitely over a million pesos.”

When asked how much infidelity contributed to the collapse of her marriage, Andres did not hesitate.

“A lot. A very big part. It happened many times.”

When Boy Abunda followed up by asking whether the cheating was repeated, she gave a brief but pointed response:

“Over and over again.”

Despite the painful memories, Andres said the experience ultimately taught her the importance of loving herself first.

“You have to love yourself first. You should value yourself before you can truly give genuine love to your partner.”

As for whether she is ready to welcome someone new into her life, Andres said she is leaving that chapter to fate — and to faith.

“For now, my pets have my heart. Of course, I hope the right person comes someday because that’s what I’ve been praying for. But I’m not looking for him. I’m leaving it in God’s hands.”

Her candid interview offered a glimpse of a woman who has moved beyond anger, choosing forgiveness, self-respect, and hope as she embraces the next chapter of her life.
