The Quezon City Police District has arrested a 41-year-old man accused of fatally shooting a 29-year-old acquaintance in Barangay St. Peter, Quezon City.

The shooting occurred around noon on Thursday, along Don Manuel Street.

The suspect, identified only by the alias “Roose,” is a resident of Barangay Sto. Domingo.

An investigation by the La Loma Police Station led by Police Lt. Col. Jose Luis Aguirre found that the suspect and the victim knew each other and both worked as freelancers.

Aguirre said the two had a heated argument before the suspect allegedly threatened the victim.

Police said the suspect later returned armed with a firearm and shot the victim in the back.

The suspect allegedly attempted to flee but was chased by bystanders before responding police officers arrested him.

He is now facing a murder charge.
