President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has approved the expansion of two existing economic zones in Cavite and Batangas, while creating a new information technology park in Dumaguete City, further expanding the Philippine Economic Zone Authority's (PEZA) network of investment hubs.

Under Proclamation No. 1337, about 331,348 square meters of land in Tanza, Cavite, were added to the existing Suntrust Ecotown Tanza Special Economic Zone.

Meanwhile, Proclamation No. 1338 expanded the Light Industry & Science Park IV Special Economic Zone in Malvar, Batangas, by approximately 308,065 square meters.

The President also issued Proclamation No. 1340, designating a 60,000-square-meter property within the Dumaguete Business Park in Barangay Calindagan as the Robinsons Dumaguete IT Park, a PEZA-registered information technology park.

The new and expanded ecozones will operate under the Special Economic Zone Act, related tax incentive laws, and applicable PEZA regulations.

The proclamations, signed by Acting Executive Secretary Ralph G. Recto on 6 July, were made public on Monday.
