Connectivity in isolated areas
Globe said the offering is designed to expand connectivity options for communities, travelers, field personnel and individuals living or working in geographically isolated areas.
“With Globe Starlink, connection will go further, helping every Filipino stay connected wherever life takes them,” said Eric Tanbauco, Globe Consumer Mobile Business vice president.
“Reliable connectivity today is no longer just about convenience. It gives people confidence to move forward, pursue opportunities, and stay connected during the moments that matter most. Connectivity should not stop where towers end,” he added.
To encourage adoption, Globe is offering three months of free access to Globe Postpaid customers subscribed to Plan 1499 and higher, while Globe Platinum customers will receive one year of complimentary access. Globe Prepaid and TM subscribers can avail themselves of the service beginning 30 June 2026, for as low as P99.
Android and HarmonyOS devices initially
Initially available on compatible Android and HarmonyOS devices, the service supports SMS, app-based calls and messaging platforms such as Viber, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger.
Users can also access navigation tools, eGov PH, GCash and the GlobeOne app even when outside conventional network coverage. Support for Apple iOS devices is expected in a future update.
The launch follows a series of successful pilot tests conducted earlier this year in remote areas of Rizal, Batangas and Bataan, where Globe demonstrated the technology’s ability to provide communications, digital payments and access to government services in locations without existing mobile infrastructure.
Key component
Globe formally introduced the initiative in January alongside President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., positioning satellite-to-mobile technology as a key component of efforts to improve digital inclusion and strengthen the country’s connectivity resilience.
The company said the service supports its broader goal of ensuring that every Filipino remains connected regardless of location, helping expand access to economic opportunities, essential services and communication channels across the country.
