The Quezon City Epidemiology and Surveillance Division (QCESD) reported on Sunday that 146 COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Quezon City in 2026, with infections increasing by 265.22 percent over the past three weeks.
“From 23 confirmed cases recorded between May 21 and June 10, the number increased to 84 cases between June 11 and July 1, 2026. As a result, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases recorded in Quezon City in 2026 has reached 146,” the QCESD said.
Based on the city's surveillance data, District 4 recorded the highest number of cases, accounting for 32.71 percent of the total, followed by District 1 with 22.43 percent.
Among the barangays with the highest number of recorded cases were Doña Imelda with 11 cases, followed by Culiat, Salvacion, Santa Teresita, Santo Cristo, Sauyo, Socorro, and Tandang Sora, with four cases each.
Data also showed that children aged 14 and below accounted for the largest share of COVID-19 cases in Quezon City, making up 30 percent of the total. Individuals aged 25 to 29 and senior citizens aged 60 and above each accounted for 16 percent of the cases.
“More cases were also recorded among women, with 66 cases (62 percent), compared with men, who recorded 41 cases (38 percent),” the city epidemiology and surveillance division noted.
The QCESD, however, said case monitoring and disease surveillance efforts are continuing to closely track the situation and promptly detect any possible clustering or increase in COVID-19 infections.
The public is also being continuously urged to observe basic preventive measures to help curb the spread of the virus.
