Some 77 farmers in Nueva Ecija underwent the Philippine Good Agricultural Practices (PhilGAP) and Marketing Strategies Training at the Municipal Event Center of General Mamerto Natividad on 2 July 2026.
The said training wins to push the Department of Agriculture's (DA) thrust of safe, quality, and continuous production of agricultural products in the province.
The Regulatory Division, the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist–Nueva Ecija Provincial PhilGAP Coordinator, and the Municipal Agriculture Office of General Mamerto Natividad led the training.
The training includes the primary principles and standards of PhilGAP, processing of PhilGAP certification, and the steps needed to achieve certification.
The Agricultural Marketing Assistance Service (AMAS) provided effective marketing strategies that can help farmers in broadening their market, adding value to their products, and increasing their income.
Thru the said training, participants are expected to become prepared in implementing safe and quality agricultural practices, accomplishing PhilGAP certification, and the use of modern marketing strategies.
The said training is part of the continued thrust of DA to develop the livelihood of farmers, increase their competitiveness and boost the agricutural sector of Nueva Ecija.
