Operatives from the Station Drug Enforcement Unit seized approximately 185 grams of hybrid marijuana, commonly known as "Kush," with an estimated street value of P259,000, during a buy-bust operation along L. Chacon corner Juan Luna Street, Barangay 4, Tondo, Manila, Saturday night.
Authorities recovered the marked money used in the sting, alongside multiple heat-sealed sachets of suspected hybrid marijuana and additional non-drug evidence.
The suspects are currently in the custody of the Moriones Police Station, where they face charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. These complaints are presently being prepared for inquest proceedings before the Manila City Prosecutor's Office.
National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) P/Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin emphasized that the success of this operation highlights the ongoing effectiveness of the NCRPO’s intelligence-driven strategy. He stated that sustained EMPO-supported operations continue to be a cornerstone of the regional campaign against the street-level drug trade.
Aberin also noted that round-the-clock, intelligence-driven interventions remain essential to dismantling local distribution networks and safeguarding communities from the persistent threat of illegal drugs.
The NCRPO reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying field operations and maintaining coordinated efforts to ensure that Metro Manila remains a safe and drug-free environment for all citizens. NEIL ALCOBER
