  • The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has placed four children in conflict with the law (CICL) under protective police custody following a stabbing incident in Las Piñas City that left a 13‑year‑old minor seriously wounded.

The case is now moving toward inquest proceedings for frustrated murder and attempted murder.

The stabbing incident occurred on Thursday night, 2 July 2026, along San Jose Street, in front of the Daniel Fajardo Barangay Hall, Barangay Daniel Fajardo, Las Piñas City.

Investigation disclosed that the victims had just met after the younger victim’s classes and were about to buy chocolate juice when they encountered a group of CICL loitering in the area. Without provocation, the group allegedly hurled hollow blocks toward them before four CICL—acting together with a common criminal design and armed with knives—chased the victims and their companions.

During the attack, the 13‑year‑old victim sustained stab wounds to the upper back, right neck, and right clavicle. A 15‑year‑old victim was also targeted but managed to evade the assault.

The suspects fled on foot, while the injured minor was immediately rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.

Follow‑up investigation led to the identification of the involved CICL. Four have been placed under custody and are currently housed at Bahay Pag‑asa, where they await assessment for discernment in accordance with the protocols of the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act. One CICL remains at large.

Complaints for frustrated murder and attempted murder are being prepared for submission to the Las Piñas City Prosecutor's Office.

The case remains under active investigation as authorities continue efforts to locate the remaining CICL and complete the legal proceedings against those already under custody.
