Fans of Eat Bulaga! and It's Showtime could not contain their excitement after Vic Sotto and Vice Ganda exchanged unexpected greetings during the closing spiels of their respective noontime shows.

The on-air exchange has fueled speculation that the two noontime titans may finally be working together on a project.

During his closing spiel, Vice took a moment to greet the veteran actor-host, whom he called his idol.

“Ay guys! May babatiin lang ako, yung idol ko. Hi, Bossing Vic!” Vice said. “Hi, Bossing! I love you!”

Vice's fellow hosts Amy Perez, Jackie Gonzaga, Kim Chiu, Vhong Navarro, and Jugs Jugueta responded with cheers.

Sotto returned the greeting during Eat Bulaga! and appeared to tease an upcoming meeting with the It's Showtime host.

“Teka lang, may bumati sa akin kanina eh. Babatiin ko rin siya ngayon. What’s up, Vice!” Vic said. “Mag-uusap tayo, huh?”

His co-hosts Maine Mendoza, Miles Ocampo, and Allan K reacted with excitement, with Allan jokingly asking, “Pinagbabantaan mo ba si Vice?”

Sotto replied, “Hindi. Mag-usap tayo nang masinsinan. Basta ang masasabi ko lang sa iyo, mwa mwa tsup tsup.”

The exchange immediately sent fans into a frenzy, with many wondering if the two stars were dropping hints about an upcoming collaboration.

It also added fuel to long-running rumors that Sotto and Vice Ganda could finally be joining forces for a Metro Manila Film Festival entry.

Both Sotto and Vice Ganda are among the MMFF's biggest box-office draws, making the prospect of a collaboration one of the festival's most anticipated dream pairings.
