DAVAO CITY — The Province of Davao del Sur welcomed Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) standouts Scottie Thompson and Nards Pinto after returning to their home province on Wednesday.
Governor Yvonne Cagas and Vice Governor Marc Cagas led the program to honor two pride of Davao del Sur who gave honor to the province after being part of the Barangay Ginebra squad that defeated the TNT Tropang 5G in a dramatic PBA Commissioner’s Cup best-of-seven finals series last month.
In his short speech, the 32-year-old Thompson, who was named Finals Most Valuable Player, is grateful to the entire province for its constant support starting when he was still in college until he made it to the country’s most prestigious commercial league.
Cagas said they are proud of the two Davsuranon athletes as they inspire the youth who have basketball dreams of making it in the professional league.
