Poll workers’ honoraria for Bangsamoro polls raise

Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia
Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman George Erwin Garcia said teachers who will serve as election workers during the upcoming Bangsamoro parliamentary election will receive a total of P3,000 in honoraria.
This as P1,000 will be added to the P2,000 allowance provided to teachers during the 2025 elections, bringing their total additional compensation to P3,000 for the Bangsamoro polls.
Garcia said, “The teachers who will serve on election day in Bangsamoro will receive P3,000. This means they already had the P2,000 provided in 2025, and we added another P1,000.”
The poll chief said the increase was part of the agency’s preparations to provide better support for teachers who will serve as members of electoral boards during the election.
The poll body is aiming to release the honoraria within only a few days after election day to ensure that teachers receive their compensation immediately.
“We want, as much as possible, to release the honoraria to our teachers within just a few days after the election,” he said.
The Bangsamoro parliamentary election is scheduled on 14 September.
