Filipino actor Jeremy Mayores is making his mark on the international film scene after landing the lead role in a Taiwanese short film adapted from the acclaimed novel The Man with the Compound Eyes. Produced by Unseen Film Studios Taiwan and directed by Kaohsiung-based filmmaker Sun Chieh-Heng, the project casts Mayores as Atile’i, the story’s “Second Son,” whose destiny-bound journey explores themes of identity, tradition, survival, and humanity’s relationship with nature.
The role marks another milestone for Mayores, whose performances in independent films such as Agapito, Ang Halikan sa Water Fountain, Indigo, Kung Ang Ulan, Panulukan, and Tara? Takbo! have showcased his versatility as an actor. His latest project also reflects the growing presence of Filipino talent in international productions and the increasing collaboration between filmmakers across Asia.
Adding to his recent achievements, Mayores was also selected as one of the 20 finalists for the Film Development Council of the Philippines’ The Masters Series: FDCP Acting Workshop for Filipino Talents, where he will train under acclaimed directors Jose Javier Reyes, Laurice Guillen and Joel Lamangan.
